As the daily stressors of life (and the pressure we put on ourselves) begin to take their effect, we see too often that people seek medical interventions, or begin to drink and smoke more.

We don’t realise that theses things we turn to for support can become a life-long crutch.

People will spend time and money on going to the gym, getting their nails done, having hair appointments, but why does our psychological and emotional well being get forgotten?

Hypnotherapy is about showing people the power of their own minds. We all have the ability to change something we don’t like, or that damages us emotionally or physically, we just need to be shown how!

Hypnotherapy is a complimentary therapy that works through positive suggestions with your subconscious.

For many people the idea of being hypnotized involves being made to dance like a chicken, however, hypnotherapy is nothing like that. Throughout the treatment you will retain full control, and be aware of your surroundings. When under you are in a trance state and you may feel as though you have just been asleep, but you have actually been in a heightened state of awareness as your subconscious listens to the suggestions of the therapist. During hypnotherapy you will become deeply relaxed, and this allows your subconscious mind to come to the fore.

Freud put it best, when he said that the human brain was like an iceberg; what we see/feel/experience is the tip of it. Our subconscious is so powerful, and everything we do, say and feel comes from the ‘waiting room of the mind’!

It is the job of a hypnotherapist to work with a client to re-set some of the ‘unhealthy’ thoughts, actions etc. to get the client to where they want to be, with the knowledge they achieved that themselves.

A client has to want the change to happen, and they have to be willing to work at it. People often see hypnotherapy as a quick fix, and the therapist is going to wave a magic wand and make everything better in one session. For some people it does happen quickly, but we must always remember that everyone is different.

Everyone has the power in them to make change a reality, and so often people forget to just make time for them. With hypnotherapy you have the ability to simply talk to someone neutral and 100% confidential, and enjoy a deeply relaxing experience.
